Herbal Products I use

Herbal Resources I enjoy

Although I no longer make my own range of herbal teas/powders I will still continue to advise clients to use them.
As a quick recap herbs have many healing qualities called properties which is why just one herb alone can be a cure-all. Herbalists generally like to combine similar, enhancing properties of several herbs together to give a more complete rounded healing effect.
A visit to a herbalist is very different to a visit to your local high street pharmacist. First a herbalist blends the herbal formula by hand and chooses herbs for quality and energy and so you also receive their own healing energy combined with that of the herbs.
We herbalists like to call it intention and believe our intention for healing activates the herbs to work in a specific way. Modern science has found many beneficial chemical components in each herb, which can be scientifically proven to work within our physical body to repair and activate the healing process. This is why much of the common medicine you receive from your GP is actually based on plant medicine. Many herbs are still being scientifically researched and modern day medicine still owes many of its breakthroughs to the humble weed.
However as amazing as this all sounds we also know that science has not found all the answers and admits that it still only understands a small amount of the workings of plant medicine.
What herbalists do know is that plants release their properties in a variety of ways, the two common ones being through water and alcohol. In my clinic I now only make up alcohol based herbs called tinctures mainly because these are quick and easy to store, formulate and for my clients to take.

Herbal teas also called infusions and tisanes are where the plants release their properties into the water. Teas are generally more gentle on the body, but can still have amazing healing results. Different properties from the same herb will be released from either tincture or tea, which is why I will still continue to suggest herbal teas.

I am very pleased to be able to introduce you to Serenity Herbal Teas. Alex Martin is a great friend whom I met on my herbal training; she is also a member of the association of Master herbalists.

Please visit the site that has a lovely on-line herb shop where you can buy her lovely teas. You can also find out more about the amazing weeds growing in your area and how to use them on her blog – well worth a visit.

During a consultation I may suggest a particular tea that would benefit you – remember I work with what I pick up from your body and energy during a treatment.

For those of you who would like a quick summary of the Serenity Teas;

Wake Up and Revitalise teas would replace my own Rejuvenate. Wake up would give you that spark of much needed energy in the morning and Revitalise is power-packed full of nutrients to feed the body.

Tranquillity Tea is a great replacement for my Harmony bud and lovely for those feeling stressed and unable to relax.

Waterfall Tea will be invaluable for any urinary tract imbalances and if you suffer with bouts of cystitis make sure you have some of this to take straight away!

Blue’s and Flu Tea is going to be useful this winter especially with all the fears around flu outbreak.

I have to mention that Alex also does the most amazing IBS capsules and/or powder and her secret formula that includes slippery elm has been amazing for many of my clients. It’s not on her site just yet but I am sure it will be there soon.

Please visit www.serenity-healing.co.uk  for lots more information and products.

Supplements

Two other products that I tend to suggest to clients include Superfood and loosemore capsules.

Superfood is the original superfood and has been going for about 30 years and was developed by Dr Schulze also known as Cayenne for clients in his USA clinic suffering from incurable diseases – he was known for his miracle cures and superfood was part of the programme.
Superfood contains a whole range of vitamin and mineral rich grasses, herbs, algae and seaweeds that are dried at special temperatures to ensure all the nutrients are intact. I have been using superfood myself for over 10 years now and it really does make a huge difference to my energy levels and immune system. Superfood is also essential for those suffering with blood sugar imbalances.
Archturus is where I get order mine.
To receive a discount you need to call them on 01592 620965 and quote Jo Oliver.

Loosemore capsules are another amazing product from Archturus and very useful for those suffering with constipation and/or candida. Some of you will know that I spend quite a bit of time discussing the bowel and candida during treatments!

You can visit them here www.archturus.co.uk

Cherry who owns Archturus is another friend I met during my herbal training and her site is well worth a look.
