The Natural Health Website

August 2010

I am having wonderful feedback from my clients regarding my private website with FREE support that I offer each cient.

Hi Jo,

This week's up-date is super, really really helpful!

Just love the website Jo - thank you for all your efforts on our behalf

Hello Jo, Just been looking through your lovely website for the first time - It's inspirational and lovely (just like you infact!) and very easy to navigate.
Jo, what a fabulous website, I love reading your blog

So I thought I would share one of the earlier posts from the site.

I Wish I'd Known

After twenty years of searching for how to create better health and Well-being for myself I have shared many times that I made many mistakes along the way. But from my mistakes I have also found some valuable insights, insights I wish I’d known at the start of my journey.

What’s right for Me
I wish I’d been shown how to listen to my own body. I wish somebody had told me that there are endless variations on the ‘right way’ and then they still may need to be modified to suit me. The information ‘out there’ has to be blended with our knowing ‘in here’. What works for Jack may not work for Jane for many reasons. Our body ALWAYS tries to heal the best it can with the raw materials we provide. Our body is always communicating, providing feedback, now we need to learn the language.

Whole Person
I wish I’d grasped the concept of healing the whole person sooner. No amount of fresh organic foods and expensive supplements can heal a heart condition that stems from a broken relationship or past hurt. But equally if we nourish an organ with healing foods and herbs and loving care it will release old pains and allow us to heal deep emotions much easier. Physical symptoms, emotional feelings, thoughts and beliefs and spiritual truths are all part of the whole person, and all of them are intimately linked.

Change
I wish I’d known that I was born to change and that both my physical and spiritual bodies are designed to be masters of change. I wish I had been less fearful of change and known that change would always eventually empower me. We are never stagnant and always moving. Any current situation, habit or emotion can and will change. The trick is to learn how to make positive changes, the ones that bring better health, healing and contentment. The answer is to realise that we cannot help but change, and that to resist change always brings pain. Change is our lifelong companion, change is the constant in our life, befriend him.

Choice
I wish I’d realised that I am always making a choice.  To take no action is a choice. To accept a situation is a choice. To chose better or different is a choice. If I had known that I am making constant choices and am always responsible for my choices I think I would have saved myself a lot of pain. We can tell what choices we have made by looking at where we are right now. Our choices have always lead us to this moment. Happily for me now, I am making more right choices. How do I know? Because despite the challenges of each day, I find it easier and easier to stay uplifted, positive and joyful.

I don’t have to be or do 100% perfect
I wish I’d known that 51% in the right direction is still taking me where I want to go. Too many times I missed the experience, because I was caught up in the worry that I wasn’t 100% perfect. Now I try to live the experience, always knowing that if I so chose I can make changes to improve that experience.
The experience is more important than getting it 100% correct.
Perfection is not the aim of life, instead to fully live an experience and then want to improve that experience brings growth.
Something is always better than nothing has become my mantra.

Have a Plan
I wish I’d realised how important a flexible plan or strategy is to success. I would have saved myself from feeling as though I was trying everything but still not getting any results. It is so easy to get caught up in following the crowd, or falling for the great sales pitch especially when it comes to health and Well-being.  But the truth is a well thought out plan that suits the individual is the only way to find what works for you.
A plan or strategy brings us focus and with enough focus we can move mountains. The secret is to keep it fluid and flexible and adapt it to your own unique needs and circumstances.

Support
There are many different types of support and all are important. I wish I’d realised earlier that seeking experienced individual support was one of the fastest ways to obtain results. I always thought I should be able ‘do it’ myself on my own – how wrong I was and I paid for this mistake in many ways.
This is why giving experienced individual support is at the heart of my work.

Does your Heart Sing?
I wish I’d learned to live by this rule much earlier. Without joy, enjoyment, excitement, passion, curiosity and contentment life becomes grey, bland and sometimes fearful and a struggle.
While I am the first to acknowledge that much learning comes through pain, there is still a lot to be said for letting your heart sing.

Cultivate an open mind and curiosity and remind yourself of the points I mention here and your journey to create better health and energy will have a great head start.

Over the coming months I will go into more detail about all of the above and other essential information which I have found useful
