June Herb Talks update

I just want to thank all the lovely people from both Preston Bisset Nurseries (www.thenurseries.com) garden club and Silverstone gardening club for both being so welcoming to both Sue Jamieson and myself at our recent herb talks.

Preston Bisset Nurseries have asked us to go back and do a herb workshop later this year. They have a lovely stock of herbs and other cottage garden plants and I will certainly pop in on a Tuesday morning when they provide refreshments.

Silverstone Gardening club had a great turnout with about 60 members at the talk, and again they are very welcoming and seem to have a great active gardening club.

Sue Jamieson is both a great friend and fellow herbalist. She started out in cancer research and then trained in Herbal medicine while living in Australia. Sue works from Buckingham 01280 816397.

We have both helped the same client where our different approaches can provide a broader support and enjoy working together.

We feel together we provide a good representation of herbal medicine today. I continue to be amazed by the findings of science, but do feel it should work for us rather than become our master.

As my head can never retain scientific information (!) I am grateful and honoured that us herbalists have members like Sue who understand and can explain the science behind herbal medicine and why herbs really are better than their synthetic cousins.

We will be talking together again on 15th September at Milton Keynes.

On a similar note I am excited about my up-coming Kitchen Pharmacy workshops from the Reading rooms in Croughton starting September.

Homeopath Lizanne Christopher (another amazing practitioner and friend) and myself have already received quite a bit of interest.
