All about Living foods
Through my work I have found that your body is constantly reacting to the foods we consume, in both positive and negative ways.
You and your body are both unique and individual and from this truth all my work is based.
I find that the body usually makes it clear through many signs (some very subtle) which food is a problem for you at this moment. Some signs are so large that it is very obvious that a certain food does not suit you (although if that food is loved the warnings will still be ignored). But for most of the people who I treat, there is usually quite a few foods that are not good for them in different ways and so the 'picture' can become quite confused especially if you are trying to sort this out yourself.
On top of this of course food is seen from a very early age as reward and punishment and later we see 'comfort eating' and a range of eating disorders. Food is also seen as an obstacle or the enemy to be 'overcome' to lose weight. For many people eating and drinking allows us a social life and a means to treat those we love.
Our food is one of the single most important aspect of healing, preventative health and feeling great! Whatever health route you are following, natural or otherwise, what you eat is the biggest factor in the longterm success.
How I work with living foods
Most of my initial work involves finding out what foods are your biggest problem and then supporting you while we cut back/out this food. As explained above, because I work with how your body is responding this will not be the same for each person.
Some people are only willing to make enough changes to reduce their physical ailments, while others want to feel as good as possible. I know from my own experiences how difficult many of the changes can be, even when we understand and can see that they are the right choices. As with all my work, I support your choices and challenges.
From my clinic I find dairy, sugar, caffeine, yeast and wheat cause the most problems in the body, as addictive foods and as challenges to change. I have various ways around helping you find painless ways to reduce and cut out these foods.
From my experience, just stopping them, without support or a programme, can cause various degrees of 'shock' to the body and mind. I assess each person individually and we go at your pace. Current lifestyle, emotions and stress all need to be looked at as well as physical conditions.
At the same time, I will start to introduce 'Living foods' into the food choices. Living foods are foods that are alive and bursting full of energy and vitality. Over the last few years the raw food movement has burst on to the scene, in all countries of the world.
There are now hundreds of websites by rawfoodies with amazing before and after photo's and amazing stories of reversing all disease from cancer to diabetes. I was introduced to living foods by the teachings of Dr Christopher, who cured thousands of incurable diseases with his herbs and diet. Strictly speaking a living foods diet is 100% vegan, with fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts, low heated or consumed raw.
Part of my healing journey involved becoming vegan, no wheat or dairy and 90% raw foods for over three years. Since then my diet has switched between brief times of 100% raw (when I felt amazing) to my current position of 70% raw, no wheat or dairy, and gradually getting back to vegan.
At all times I avoid becoming fanatical about food choices, and believe in being inspired by others to do the best you can at the time. Taking it slowly, in most cases, is the best way to view large changes to our diet.
This page has been created to inspire you with pictures of amazing raw food creations, most of these came from one of my favourite raw food blogs www.sunnyrawkitchen.com
In my work I am a great fan of the Green Smoothie, which is an amazing tasting healthy drink, so please read my 'The Green Smoothie Trial' article.
Many of my patients and clients find Dairy a real challenge to their road to health - so here I have an article to make things a little easier!
The main point I cannot stress enough is that our diets can help heal us. But there is no one correct way that we all should eat. Being fluid and open to change is the best way to approach this topic!
Once you can come for a treatment I can advise you personally and individually.
