Iridology - what do your eyes reveal?

Iridology, or iris analysis, is the simple,painless and non-invasive technique of examining the iris (the coloured part surrounding the pupil)in each eye. If you look closley at each iris you will see a pattern of colours, textures and markings which is unique to that person,and together these features form a map, a blueprint, which gives the iridologist valuable information about a person's inherited strengths and weaknesses and general state of well-being.

Each part of the iris relates to a particular area or system in the body, and the genetic markings, which have been passed from parent to children, make it easy for the iridologist to assess the constitution of the individual. Iris analysis helps in the identification of potential weaknesses often years before symptoms become apparant.

Iridology is not used to directly diagnose specific disease

Iridology is an exciting and fascinating tool to learn more about the body we are born with. It is also invaluable in helping to decide the best course of action to take when we are in ill health, and also in the planning of preventative treatment - whatever the therapy.

My initial full consultation always starts with a full iridology assessment. Usually I prefer to do this before I know too much about any health issues you may have - this is so I can just 'read' what I see in your eyes. I photograph your eyes with a digital camera so that we can both see your iris in detail on the computor. You will learn how iridology works, be shown the maps, and your eyes are fully explained.

First you will be shown which 'health constitution' your eyes relate to, from this you will learn which areas of your body may need balancing and further help. All of this information including self-help steps are explained in detail and also given to you as a printed handout.N.B. There are about ten different constitutions, a person may just be one, or have several. This is part of what makes us unique.

There are no 'good' or 'bad' eyes, it is simply the body we have come into this world with. Inherited from our family. Good health, illness and recovery all relate to a balance between what we have inherited and then what we have done with it - all situations can be changed. What we are doing here is arming ourselves with knowledge, so that we can make the right changes for us.

There are over 200 differential signs in the iris that a trained iridologist can read, and every single eye is unique. After we have discussed your constitution, together we will look to see what individual signs there are in your eyes, and what impact they have on your current health.

Many claims are made about iridology, and new information and forms of iridology are being developed. I have been using iridology in my clinic since 2000 and over the years have attended various courses and looked into hundred of eyes! I continue to be both amazed and grateful for this unique tool our bodies have given us to help and gain a deeper understanding of our own unique healing.

Iridology is a wonderful tool I use together with my work as a herbalist, having now designed herbal formulas to enhance different constitutions, and as a naturopath using living foods to support and nourish different areas of the body.

The eyes are often described as 'the doorway to the soul'. Over the years I have learned to have great reverance and respect for the information I have access to from studying the eyes. As with all my work, iridology can work on many levels, and more and more I find we are surrounded by clues, signposts and 'knowing' as to what we need to do next.

Part of any follow up treatments involves learning how to put into practice the information you have gained from the iridology assessment.
